Tomato-apple Chutney

Ingredients
4 cups (2 lbs) each apples (4 medium) and tomatoes (4 medium -- red or green). OR (l large and l medium cans tomatoes)
l cup onions - l large
2 cups seedless golden raisons
4 1/2 cups dark brown sugar (2 lb. bag)
2 T preserved ginger
2 t. powered ginger
4 t. salt
l pint cider vinegar
2 oz. pickling spices held in bag.
Peel and chop fruit and onions into small pieces. Cook until tender in vinegar and bag of spices. Add sugar and boil 5 minutes. Add raisons, salt & ginger. Continue to simmer 20 minutes or longer -- probably much longer! Remove bag of spices and pour into hot sterilized jars. Top with melted parafin. Makes ll cups or 9 pint jars. Always gets lots of raves!!!!
