Pastor Chuck's Stars

Apple Stars
We're fortunate to have a very select team of professional companies that help us assure the quality of all of our Pastor Chuck products. It gives me great pleasure to introduce you two of our most valued colleagues.

Beth Calder, Ph.D.
Beth is an Extension Food Science Specialist with an outreach team from the University of Maine Department of Food Science & Human Nutrition and also UMaine Cooperative Extension. Working with Dr. Al Bushway, Food Processing Authority for Maine and Jason Bolton, Extension Food Safety Educator, Beth provide all kinds of assistance to Pastor Chuck. Food safety programs, food labeling, ingredients, licensing, regulatory compliance, research assistance — all of this and more help us bring you the finest apple products possible.

Kate Callnan
Kate is the Technical Director at Northeast Laboratory Services in Portland, Maine. With a degree in Microbiology from the University of Maine and a Masters in Biology from the University of Southern Maine, Kate is our go-to scientist for quality assurance. At NEL, an accredited laboratory operating two Maine facilities, Kate is Pastor Chuck's watchdog for seeing that our strict sanitation and purity measures are successful. Kate also helps us with the accuracy of our nutritional labeling and works with our kitchen to determine the right shelf life information for each and every product.

There's so much more to making natural apple products than nature and apple trees, and it's trusted, local experts like Beth and Kate that makes our jobs easier and the quality of our products better.
