Green retail stores
We're impressed about the exciting new idea of "the green retail store," which is a great step in taking our world closer to the goal of sustainability. And today there are so many ways that stores can green up.
First came steps to reduce waste: paper-reduction strategies, reusable shopping bags, reusable containers, recyclable packaging, and products with built-in green values.
But, as more and more businesses see the importance of being green both from a marketing perspective and a cost-of-doing-business perspective, caring for the environment is becoming an important part of a company's brand identity—right down to how their stores are constructed.
Ecologically minded stores now feature construction with materials chosen for their minimal impact on the environment. They're designed for energy efficiency, water conservation, and indoor air quality. They use modern energy tactics such as integrated photovoltaics (silicon solar cells integrated directly into the roof structure), passive solar designs to take advantage of the sun's warmth, and metal halide fixtures instead of incandescent bulbs,
We're always pleased to learn that our products (which are also green, even when the apples are red) are available at a green retail store. So when we list places to find Pastor Chuck Orchards products, we'll be printing the green stores in green!
