Pastor Chuck Orchards Gets Involved in the Food Revolution

Food Revolution
Within weeks of becoming First Lady, Michelle Obama emerged as a champion of healthful food and living, planting an organic garden, promoting local food, and taking a stand against childhood obesity. Shortly, thereafter, celebrity chef Jamie Oliver launched his American Food Revolution, aimed at serving better food in schools and keeping cooking alive. Now, Pastor Chuck Orchards is joining ranks – perhaps on a smaller scale, but with a commitment to helping raise healthy kids.

Toward this end, Pastor Chuck Orchards has begun the process of developing pouches (144-ounce, gallon, half gallon, quart) for his applesauce, apple butter, and apple salsa with the goal of distributing healthy food to schools, hospitals, caterers, and restaurants. Pastor Chuck founder Waite Maclin is currently exploring opportunities in New York City and hopes to have test markets in place by the start of the upcoming school year.
