Pastor Chuck Orchards Earns Gluten Free Certification

“Are your apple products gluten free?” This is a question that Waite Maclin, founder of Pastor Chuck Orchards, gets asked time and time again. Now, thanks to recent test results, Maclin can answer unequivocally, “Yes.”

Pastor Chuck Orchards produces organic applesauce and apple butter, as well as an all-natural apple salsa. All have been gluten free from the beginning. However, before officially proclaiming them “gluten free,” Maclin knew he needed to ensure there was no cross contamination in the production of the organic cloves, cinnamon, and other spices.

“To confirm this, we sent samples to Bia Diagnostics of Burlington, Vermont, a registered testing company,” said Maclin. “The results were gratifying: we are, indeed, gluten free…with certification by the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness.”
